Keela Communications was born out of a deep understanding that stories have power — not just to inform, but to shape culture, influence hearts, and move people to action.
Founded by Cher Murphy, Keela is a boutique public relations and communications agency operating at the intersection of faith, music, media, and meaningful storytelling. What began as a passion for amplifying voices with purpose has grown into a trusted communications partner for artists, brands, and organisations whose work carries weight. In an industry often driven by noise, Keela was built to bring clarity.
We exist to help our clients cut through the clutter — to articulate who they are, why they matter, and how their message connects authentically with the audiences they are called to serve. Whether launching a music project, stewarding a public moment, or shaping a long-term communications strategy, Keela approaches every campaign with discernment, excellence, and cultural intelligence.
Over the years, Keela Communications has delivered high-impact PR and media campaigns across entertainment, publishing, lifestyle, and brand communications. From Grammy-nominated artists and award-winning musicians to global speakers and leading retail brands, our work spans both creative and commercial spaces — with the same intentionality and care applied to each.
Our portfolio includes campaigns and launches for artists such as Prime Circle, The Jesus Collective, Loyiso Bala, Khaya Mthethwa, Brenden Praise, Lee Cole, Neville D, and CeCe Winans, as well as international platforms and speakers including Passion (with Louie Giglio), Dr Caroline Leaf, and Taffi Dollar. In the corporate and lifestyle arena, Keela has led public relations for brands like Decathlon South Africa and Leroy Merlin, demonstrating an ability to navigate diverse audiences without compromising integrity or impact.
From album and single launches (radio and TV plugging), international radio releases for CURB | Word Records, book and speaker tours, live event publicity, and large-scale brand storytelling — Keela turns moments into movements. Notable campaigns include The Overcomer film PR rollout in South Africa, The Jesus Collective ministry launch, and Prime Circle’s global streaming concert Music From Empty Spaces — each executed with excellence, strategy, and cultural sensitivity.
At its core, Keela Communications is purpose-driven.
We believe that when stories are stewarded well, they can inspire hope, empower communities, and unite people across difference. That belief informs how we work, who we partner with, and the standard we hold ourselves to.
For artists, ministries, and brands ready to amplify their message with clarity, creativity, and credibility — Keela Communications exists to help that story be heard, honoured, and remembered.
Why alignment matters
Cher doesn’t believe in “PR for the sake of PR.” For her, public relations is not crisis control, spin, or noise-making — it’s about relationship, alignment, and belief.
“I could never do this work if I didn’t love it — or if I didn’t believe in the people and the message behind it.”
Keela Communications was built on the conviction that PR isn’t guaranteed, but integrity is. True impact comes from aligning the right story with the right media, at the right time — and only when there is genuine belief in what’s being represented. Cher works exclusively with artists, ministries, and brands she can stand behind wholeheartedly, because authenticity cannot be manufactured.
Rather than pushing narratives, Keela focuses on earning trust — with media, audiences, and clients alike. Relationships matter more than hype. Alignment matters more than exposure. And belief in the message is non-negotiable.
This philosophy shapes every campaign Keela touches. It’s why the agency is selective, deeply invested, and known for work that resonates long after the press cycle ends.
