Keela Communications is a boutique PR and communications agency founded by Cher Murphy, built on the belief that meaningful influence begins with truth.
Operating at the intersection of faith, music, media, and meaningful storytelling, Keela exists to help the right stories reach the right people — with clarity, creativity, and integrity.
With over two decades of experience across journalism, media, publicity, and strategic communications, Cher has built Keela on relationships, alignment, and a deep respect for story. From album launches and radio plugging to book campaigns, live events, brand storytelling, and faith-led movements, Keela helps artists, authors, speakers, organisations, and purpose-driven brands communicate with confidence and care.
For Cher, PR is never about hype, spin, or visibility for the sake of it. It is about understanding the heart behind the message and helping that message travel further, without losing its truth.
Keela only takes on work it can stand behind wholeheartedly, because authenticity cannot be manufactured — and neither can trust.
Through strategic media pitching across radio, TV, press, and relevant platforms, Keela connects stories with the decision-makers who shape what gets seen, heard, and remembered.
PR coverage and playlist placements are never guaranteed, but every campaign is pursued with thoughtful positioning, strong relationships, targeted outreach, and genuine belief in the message.
Relationships over hype. Alignment over exposure. Belief in the message, always.
Cher Murphy is the founder and lead strategist of Keela Communications, bringing over 20 years of experience in the entertainment, media, and publishing industries. She holds a degree in Journalism with a second major in Politics — a foundation that continues to shape her thoughtful, strategic approach to communications.
Before launching Keela, Cher spent seven years as a media and marketing liaison at Christian Art Distributors (including CUM Books), leading PR campaigns for books, films, and resources. She also served as editor of Truth Magazine, a pioneering Christian lifestyle publication aimed at youth culture, and later worked for five years at Integrity Media Africa.
Throughout her career, Cher has successfully led radio plugging and PR campaigns in South Africa for a wide range of local and international artists, including Bethel Music, Jesus Culture, Passion, Lauren Daigle, Casting Crowns, Chris Tomlin, Kari Jobe, Michael W. Smith, TobyMac, Crowder, MercyMe, Skillet, Needtobreathe, Planetshakers, Tenth Avenue North, and many others.
Based in Johannesburg, South Africa, Cher is a wife to Sean and a mother of three — balancing leadership, creativity, and calling with honesty and grace. Her lived experience, industry insight, and steady leadership continue to define the heart and direction of Keela Communications.
